Philippine Quick Thoughts

2005-01-12|8:11 p.m.

A few quick random thoughts...

I know I have already talked about Philippine food here a little bit, but I've got a little more... Do you know what the really funny thing is about a lot of the food here? It makes your poop smell funny. (You are welcome.)

Since I am not liking a lot of the food, I have had more than my fair share of ice cream since I have been here... Who needs to lose weight anyway? (Oh yeah, I do... Fuck.)

A few people have asked if there is a lot of 'American' restaurants to eat at... It's weird - the American restarants here are not 'real' American food. They have McDonalds, Burger Kings, and lots of other American restaurants.

I've only tried McDonalds since I have been here - and it doesn't taste the same. The burger tastes like meatloaf.

I think it's just the quality of the beef - it has to be shipped in, unlike at home where we have cows everywhere.

They also serve rice with everything, and they also have chicken and spaghetti on the menu. It was strange to see people eating McSpaghetti.

I've talked to a few other Americans here, and all have said that all of the American restaurants do that.

M'kay - I am going to try to get some sleep... I have not slept well since I have been here. This morning I was so tired at 3:45 when it was time to get up that just wanted to cry when the alarm went off. I bet you feel bad for me, don't you? Oh you don't? Shit. Screw you then. :-)

I know these Philippine entries have not been the most interesting to read... Sorry - I just have not had much time to devote to this diary while I have been over here. I promise I will make up for it when I get home with a few top notch entries...
