Perhaps someday I will tell you more about me in this space. For now, you just have to learn it by reading my freakin' diary. Now get to it!

Holiday Wishes and The Zit

2004-12-25|11:51 p.m.

Do you ever have one of those nights where you have a very hard time putting sentences together? I am having one of those nights tonight... Please bear with me as I attempt to string together enough words to make a coherent entry.

For those who celebrated Christmas this year, I hope the day was a great one!

Years ago, I could have just said "I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas this year!" but I'm not sure you can really say that anymore...

A small group of people get offended by phrases like that because they don't celebrate Christmas. Several years ago when I wished a man a Merry Christmas, he barked back in a very annoyed tone, "Well I don't even celebrate Christmas!"

Ever since then, I've been more hesitant to wish people a Merry Christmas.

On one hand, I understand where the man was coming from - to be the minority, and have pretty much everything that most people do and say during the entire Christmas season be something that you are not a part of... well, it has to be pretty frustrating.

But at the same time, it's not like when I wished him a Merry Christmas, I was doing it with ill will or malice.

This world certainly can be a complicated place, can't it?

So this year I got some cool things, including some clothes, a new mini stereo, and a few games for the ol' Playstation 2.

But the gift I found the most entertaining, I didn't get... Check this out.

No, not the couple (pervert), the towel. It's the towel that dares to ask the question, 'Do you want to use the same part of the towel to dry off your face AND your butt?' (yeah, that is a pretty daring question!)

My mom got each of her four siblings one of these towels for Christmas this year.

They had an uncle who used to talk about making sure they didn't use the same part of the towel they wiped off their private parts with to dry their faces.

Now I've heard of people getting shit-faced before... (If you were here right now, I would certainly understand it if you wanted to put my nose in that last joke and say "Bad Bill!")

When I was a teenager, I remember thinking that when I would get older, I wouldn't have to worry about acne anymore.

I've found that although I don't have to worry about as frequent or plentiful 'outbreaks,' it is something that I still have to think about.

Just in time for Christmas, a time where you see the entire family, and take four million pictures, I was lucky enough to get a zit below one of my eyes.

Now, stupid me (and let me stress the stupid part...) decided yesterday that if I were to attempt to relieve some of the pressure (that sounds so much better than 'popping a zit,' doesn't it?) that things would be much better. It turns out that's not true.

To demonstrate, I have taken the liberty to create an artist's rendering of what the zit looked like before I touched it, and what happened as a result of my handiwork...

If you'll notice, in the 'before' picture, although you can tell that something is below my eye, it's not too noticeable - and not that big of a deal.

In the 'after' picture, you can almost hear the small children screaming as they running away begging their parents to get "Mr. Carnival Freak Show Man" away from them as quickly as possible.

Okay, so the zit is not as noticeable as it is in the picture, but as I'm talking to people, I find myself wondering from time to time, "I wonder if it's as noticeable as I think it is."

As a side note, I have always hated the word 'zit.' It's just a disgusting word...

Well anyway, hopefully it'll be gone in a few days...

Speaking of being gone in a few days, I leave on Wednesday for Manila.

I'm not sure what kind of computer access I will have while I am gone - so I am not sure if I'll be able to update this while I am gone...

If I can't I'll do my best to at least leave some comments in the comment section from time to time.

If while I'm gone, you want to drop me a line and make me a little less homesick, send all correspondence to [email protected] Thanks!
