Entry Number 100

Tuesday, Apr. 05, 2005|1:30 a.m.

Spring is here. How do I know? Two words. 'Opening Day." Is there a more beautiful sound than the words "Opening Day?" Not in Cincinnati.

The opening of another baseball season is always a big deal in Cincinnati, if for no other reason than our beloved Reds have not yet been mathematically eliminated from the post season yet.

I was one of the lucky people who was at Great American Ball Park today to see the Reds beat the Mets in the bottom of the 9th inning.

At the game, the sun was shining and the beer was flowing... So after I got home I very promptly took a two hour nap on the futon. So now, at 1:30am, I sit here tired and with a giant headache. However, for some reason, I still feel compelled to write...

I am not sure why, but that's a little surprising to me. I've written 99 other entries. And for some reason, a few people have actually read them. Funny how some things catch you off guard.

When looking back over the other 99 entries, a few stand out.

- The one where I explained how I tried to get Davy Jones to play at my prom.

- The one where my brothers and sisters and I form the group "The Silver Platters" to win money to buy a silver platter for our parent's anniversary.

- The one where my family went to Hawaii, and I found a tabu idol. It turns out the tabu causes every member of my family bad luck, so my brothers and I try to return it to an ancient burial ground. We encounter a mad scientist en route to the burial ground and he accuses us of trying to steal the tabu from him, and holds us hostage, but in the end our parents find us and we live happily ever after.

Oh wait, those were all episodes of "The Brady Bunch." Crap. Nevermind.

Well, thanks to those of you who do stop by every now and again to read this. It's cool to have some online friends that I would have never met if it weren't for diaryland.

Here's to another 100!
